We learn interesting things now and then. Some of them are worth mentioning. Like... Fender and Gibson products made in China come from the same manufacturer (who contracts the work). Last we knew, the largest guitar maker in the world was Samick (South Korea) who is a ghost manufacturer for lots of brands. The quality of many products coming out of Asia now is really fantastic, especially when you compare them on a price basis to US and European stuff. What is the real difference? More to come...
OK, Regarding the post below
So, just to recap, Saturday, August 22 is POSTPONED. (The event, not the day. We assume the day will proceed normally otherwise.)
Oh yea,
We apologize for any inconvenience. Really.
This is a link to the map below. It will open on its own page for easier viewing. The location shows as "Wayside Warehouse". Directions: (The position marker is a little off; we're a bit farther down the street near Ossipee Lake Rd, not hard to find. It's the big gray warehouse beside Cross Way Repair.) You can zoom in and out on the map or click n' grab to move it around.
Once again we are rallying our crack team of reticent rubes for an all-out effort. On Saturday, August 22, as previously rumored (or rumoured, as they might say in Olde Blighty), our second Swap, Shop, n' Schmooze will be held at our official world headquarters in the bucolic bastions of Tamworth NH. We plan to call it our second Swap, Shop, n' Schmooze. Thanks to the miracle of modern technology, you can glean more valuable information about this storied event by simply scrolling down this very page! Fun facts such as time, place, and directions will be revealed to the diligent and studious reader in mere seconds. Even a map will appear for your viewing pleasure. For those whose scrolling skills are limited, that's 10AM-4PM, 134 Cross Road, Tamworth NH. (And just as before, this event will be brought to you in its entirety by those Masters of Misanthropy, The Buck Brothers themselves!)
August is purported to be one of the 12 best months of the year to have a musicians' swap meet so keep yer eyes peeled for the official date, coming soon to a blog near you. Could it be August 22? 23? 29? 30? Only the Shadow knows.
Nope. We're just busy as beavers with other projects for the moment and haven't had time to post anything lately. But... big doin's are afoot, so watch this space! Just don't get obsessed with checking back here every single day to see if anything's changed, OK? OK? You're not really going to do that are you?
Those of you who missed our first swap and sale may be wondering just what the heck transpired. Should we let the cat out of the bag? Well, I guess so. A few jaw-clenching early birds stormed the ramparts at the crack of 9 AM searching for those '52 Nocasters, '57 Strats, and '59 LP's for $10 or less, while the more pragmatic types strolled through somewhat later at a leisurely pace. To our great and everlasting chagrin, no Flying Saucer Girls put in an appearance, though we suspect they may have been monitoring the activity from a prudent distance. Our official cheerleading squad did not make the scene either, due to their regular Friday night cheer, chug, n' chuck session which ran into the wee hours. Apparently they were all stricken thereafter with a mild but persistent case of the hiccoughs which they did not wish to spread amoungst the general populace. Or so we are told.
Some nice gear passed through during the course of the day and a number of happy buyers and sellers attended. Seldom was heard a discouraging word, and sour dispositions were nowhere to be seen. Guitars and basses by Carvin, Fender, Godin, Ibanez, and Peavey were abundant, as were amps by Carvin, Fender, Mesa, Peavey, Roland, and Tech 21, A very nice '67 Tele came through as well as a pro quality custom solid body, completely hand built by the owner. Late arrivals included a Road King with low serial number and a cool Carvin 6 string set up with a Roland synth package. And yes, we do plan to do this again in the near future. Stay tuned for updates. Remember, you can easily RSS this blog to get all the latest info delivered directly to your homepage or any other place you want to stick it.
More later...
